Description of Property at 247 Erie St.
Welcome! Harriet's House was built around 1878 by John and Mary Esselbach, becoming one of the first Put-in-Bay Ohio homes still standing today. In 2002, Linda and Denny Rectenwald took over ownership of the property, renamed this new venture Harriet's House, and a new guest house business began on Put-In-Bay. Customers have been returning year after year as new friendships have been made. If you have not visited yet, we would like to welcome you to our Put-in-Bay rental home or one of our spacious luxury suites. put in bay 360 virtual tourIn the fall of 2004, the Rectenwalds began the expansion of this little South Bass Island paradise. A new 2400 square foot building was added to the property. The Island Suites welcomed their first guests in May of 2005. A combination of Island and local talent, along with a lot of personal sweat equity from family and friends made this new building a reality.
